Information Form [WorldYouth] Youth involvement in the World Humanitarian Summit - North and Southea

Greetings from the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth - World Humanitarian Summit Working Group.

This News is to invite you and your respective youth organisations, to be a part of the WHS Youth Core Team of North and Southeast Asia.

At the initiative of UN Secretary General, managed by UN OCHA, the first World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) will bring together people and institutions to propose solutions to our most pressing challenges and set an agenda to keep humanitarian action fit for the future. Leading up to the summit which will be held in Istanbul on May 2016, the UN Major Group for Children and Youth is currently facilitating online and offline consultations to ensure the participation and representation of youth.

In light of this, we will certainly need your support in reaching our fellow youth and making sure that their voices are heard. Through this WHS Youth Core Team, we can altogether lead youth consultations in the North and Southeast Asian region.

World humanitarioan summit working group looking for youth leaders (30 years old and below) or youth organizations, with a focus on humanitarian work, from the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Viet Nam. Once involved, you will share in the responsibility of developing humanitarian recommendations and mobilizing youth networks in your home countries.
